Description
Groundhog brand radish has 2-4 times the amount of roots as rye or rape. Roots will grow into the soil 10-20″ deep. This large root system allows Groundhog radishes to pull nitrogen and nutrients from deep within the soil and bring them back to surface.
Riess – :
I have been using this seed for 5 years now, and it produces one of the largest roots, with a continuous canopy that is present until the days start getting longer. Planted in August, it can shade out smaller crop plants, but will establish itself and grow to maturity with no problems. Roots exposed by the dying of the canopy stay “there,” sometimes sticking out of the ground a foot, until the weather warms enough they decompose. These work really well with Crimson clover.
